大概是在北方上学的缘故，家乡的习以为常变成了不可多得的珍品。近来我已经习惯听雨的白噪音，运气好的话还能闻到空气的潮湿味道，有时会想起家乡的海、紫色天空、船只、家里的人和动物们。
即使想起时总有淡淡的一点惆怅，但我还是想将这些记忆一遍一遍地描摹进我的脑海里。所以我试图将记忆在我脑中的样子通过视觉呈现出来，尽管它们并不总是清晰，但依然是那一个当下的定格。“琥珀”为此提供了非常好的诠释，因为它就是一个小的时空或者是浓缩成的时间的固态。可以的话，你还可以从中看到三千年前已经灭绝的虫子或可以证明外星人确实存在的证据。“雨”对我而言与此相同，它可以跨越时空，将我送回我的家乡，而照片则是可以证明我记忆存在的证据。我的工作是将它们化作模糊的雨、化作凝固的琥珀，变成我记忆的档案馆。”
